I WILL OPT FOR BRAVERY

I will opt
for
bravery
in my old age.

Caution
may appear
more safe
and savory,

but only
my true, willing heart’s exposure,
will lead me through
to peace
and sated closure
of the faithful, ordinary life
of an extraordinary, brightly giving sage.

Toward comfort that runs fathoms deep,
paired with bold faith’s chasmic leap
do I thus
now turn the page.
