WHEN THINGS DON’T WORK OUT, REMEMBER. . .

When things simply
don’t work out,
don’t get all wimpy,
remember what
your life and dreams
are all about–

don’t get too thinky
along a path
that lets them shrink to skimpy. . .

Retain a smile,
even if
it goes invisible a while,

And leave the very whole of you
all in,
including your
extraordinary brilliance
in imagination,

Until you’ve found
and started on
a different route
toward your vital destination,

and, too, to boot,
you’ve found another good occasion
for you happily to clap
and with plenty joy
to sing and shout.
