BEYOND THE BLUNDER

If you would
and are well able
to avoid the common blunder,

don’t be duped to think
you get your place
around creation’s
power dining table
from the strength
of all your knowledge and your skill,
though they be of such high caliber,
it seems quite highly likely
that the world, of those, may never see its fill.

And therefore it’s not probable
that you’d escape from sharing it
through any plan that had you fearful, fleeing.

No, it’s not so much
for aught of that,
but by virtue of
the wonder force and voice
you are,

as one of billions others like you
who’ve walked this earth
as human beings.
