SUDDENLY, YOU NOW CAN FLY

Even though
you have no wings,
your fitness grows
with your focus set on certain things,

and though
you don’t know how
or why,

you master and surpass those things,
with faithful, steady practice–
you need not even
be an actress,
but you may notice,
shocked one day,
that, seeming suddenly,
though you’ve never sprouted wings,
that, with time and your tenacity,
you’ve grown so in capacity,
you actually can fly.
