Don’t let
cut you down!

Be they
or just fuddy-duddies,
forget the epithets they spew,

and take a cue
from your best buddies–
remember all
the sides and parts of you
that are deeply beautiful
and true,

and get
the guts
to slip
out of your ruts
and trek into
a brand new kind of trip,

so that,
even if you take
a well-placed hit,

you’ll shine yet brighter,
and fly your kite
into the sky
much higher,
taking oh so so much more
delight there,
upon your next rebound.
