I CAN

I can. . .
and I choose not to.

OR
I don’t know if I can. . .
and I choose to–
OR choose not to,
in line with what I want.

And,
if I really, really want,
by God, I’m gonna try,
+++++ignoring all the looks ascant
+++++and nasty whines that say
+++++“You can’t, YOU CAN’T!”–
+++++like vicious playground taunts.

And, in so doing,
I’ll have found
the springing magic
from the ground,
through its skyward-spouting,
deep life-giving font.

And YOU–
yes, YOU!–
can use your heart and brain
to help you do the same–

if you
REALLY REALLY want.
