BOOMERANG LOVE

Boomerang love:
fling it out,
watch it
+++++fly
++++++++in whipping, whirling arc,
+++++++++++++++to its slanting, lofty peak–

+++++then,
++++++++++sink, float,
+++++slowly come back down,
+++++like a homing dove. . .

For if,
+++++one sec,
++++++++++you turn your head
+++++++++++++++the other way around,,

+++++you may be hit
+++++++++++++++quite by surprise
++++++++++++++++++++upon its swift rebound,

+++++as if
++++++++++a bolt
++++++++++from high, wide blue
+++++++++++++++had been hurtled
+++++from above.
