A PRAYER FROM CLARITY

Thank you God
for
+++++the clarity
++++++++++to receive
++++++++++sun,
++++++++++air,
++++++++++and food. . .

and for
+++++the gift to act
+++++with gentle kindness
+++++and sincerity. . .

and for
+++++the drive
++++++++++to persevere
++++++++++till I arrive,
++++++++++push on
++++++++++until
++++++++++the job is done,
+++++++++++++++even though
+++++++++++++++it not be liked
+++++++++++++++by absolutely everyone,

+++++and, if need be,
+++++the guts
+++++to take the plunge
+++++into the deep,
++++++++++even when
++++++++++to take
++++++++++such a great leap
++++++++++will be poo-poohed,
++++++++++tomatoed,
++++++++++even booed,
+++++++++++++++by those
+++++++++++++++who guessed not
+++++++++++++++what I would do
+++++++++++++++before I sleep–

+++++++++++++++or with how much
+++++++++++++++temerity.
