SEEKING, ACCEPTING

The thing you seek
sometimes won’t
just up and break its way
through daunting crowds
of clouds dark gray,
to fall out of the sky. . .

There may be time
that must go by,

once Earth accepts,
to take and eat
what falls upon a little seed,
to sprout,
take root,
and grow up slow. . .

until its reach
is marvelously high.
