This one body
is for this life
the only one we’ve got-y.

So it’s best to be aware
just what
its nature asks for,
in quantities and qualities
of love and light and air,
activity and good clean water,
food and care. . .

and remember
that your human efforts
to provide
these key commodities
will be, of their nature,
somewhat spotty. . .

But they’re still good
to get you there–
to your high dreams,
no matter where–
if sometimes a little slower
than a bright red Maserati.
