LOVE SENT BY LIGHT SCANT

Love sent
to the Universe,

as our current
globe stance
drinks in
light scant,

from sun’s
low curve slant–
not much there
to disburse–

our world
grows ever darker
as the power
of the year
unfurls
to its nadir,

whence
sun’s light turns ’round,
creeps toward us
to expand

doing
its same age-old
slow dance,

but
with gear then shifted,
as can be predicted,
once again
to reverse.
