Some things
are abundantly clear–

you can’t squeeze blood
from a turnip,
my dear. . .

if you SHOULD happen to squeeze,
and blood IS extracted,
with prolonged coaxing
or ease,

it just may well be
that what you thought
was a turnip,
really was not!

So, sometimes,
what you do
with lots of love
and a wee bit of thought,

will leave you with more
than you thought
you’d’ve got.
