Sending up
one shining
trial balloon–

I made it a beauty
full of bright color,
shaped round and pretty,

I watch up
where it flies,
with two hopeful eyes,
and see its expanded layer,
a prayer in disguise,

in search of
a dusting
of much peace and love
by me received,
and from me to give,
with glad thanks
and the mere hint of glory,

for all that
will fit like a glove
on life molded in
to a brave-and-heroic-
true, happy-end story.
