IT SEEMS THERE’S STILL AN OUTSIDE WORLD

Judging
from the view
right through my window. . .

it seems
it’s true
there’s still an outside world==

even if the secrets
on their way to me
are stuck in some lame limbo,
in the fingers
of what dares
to calls itself a server. . .

which is supposed to
serve me with
a batch of sundry messages
beyond what I can ferret out,
just as the regular Web surfer.

But,
perhaps there’s service
in the pause
that lets me breathe
and not have to read
each e-mailed phrase and clause,
which makes my day
a little better–

and no worser.
