THE LIGHT AT THE TOP OF THE TUNNEL

In a hole. . .
gotta climb–
just when you feel
the most you’ll ever do
is crawl. . .

Breathe. . .
to your gut, sink in. . .
allow your heart to beat. . .
listen to its rhythm,

And, in time,
you’ll muster up
the wherewithal
to gather all
your strength
and make that climb. . .

Slip and stumble
though you will
avoid a fatal spill. . .

And rise
to see
and stand
and be,
+++++as the power in you
+++++will swell,
+++++in every muscle strand
+++++and cell,
the brilliancy
of that panoramic,
shining light.
