I thank God
for the lush, morning lawn
under my walking feet,
bright with silver drops of water
too big to be dew,
and simple mini daisies
that leave three tiny petals
on my wet hiking shoes,
white specks
which first catch my eye
as I retreat indoors. . .

I rejoice
at this late spring day’s sun
recalling me to earth and life,
which warms and feeds me deep,
through to my very core. . .
