October . . .
Hot . . .
For this one day,
one chance we’ve got. . .

and it’s been kind of good
in ways. . .
but in others, not,

and yet,
there’s still a little time
to strive and maybe climb,
to let it be
more want you want–

There will be another day,
but for this particular play
there will be no do-over.

And it’s sort of up to you
to see the vision through

as now,
the leaves crisp up
and will fall down–
‘Tis not the season
of the four-leafed clover.
