WHAT REALLY COUNTS

We have such
fantastic
gadgets–

rolled out
with great fanfare,
public pageants–

empowered to do
near anything
a human genius
could compose. . .

but don’t forget
that most
of what we need
or really want to do

might be much simpler
than the chipping workings of a CPU
or shaped in nobler molds
than what we now call digital,

and could satisfy
without a hint
of binary flip
or 2 byte count–
without a a single number,
icon,
or peripheral. . .

and for most stuff
that we NEED to count,

we can still keep track
with wonders that,
when we’re born,
we’ve already got–

our eager wiggling fingers
and our twinkling, spreading toes!
