THE BRINY FOG

The briny fog–
its fluffy cloak
of white–
in on a Pacific wind
it rides. . .

to clear way
for ripples warm
and clean,
swept in on sun
and midday tide–

It yields the day.

But, in turn,
returns
to reign the night–

a give and take
just as
the different bodies twined
of two
meld into one
as they become
a groom and bride.
