Reaching out into the world
I encounter what will touch me

Venturing out onto the plain
I weather what will weather me
and I welcome all that comes to me.

Fathoming my inmost depths
I sound out what speaks to me

My presence will be felt–
I will be in good company–
and the words my secret soul has heard
will have whispered where they would
and spoken well
helped me to see
just who I am
and where I’m from
and what I will become
and that I’m free.

I accept. Thank you Jingle, for the award, and Ravenblack for nominating me.:-)

Another month spans out its clouds
another week,
another set of days to break
purple clouds cloak the horizon’s glow
rimmed by sun’s paling edge
of orange and pink–

a bridge gets built
as port crane lights
prevent the falling night
from blinding ships
in deep blue darkness
as long as their amber glows
or red eyes wink.

I nominate haikudoyou.

Walt Whitman would have liked these lines, too. Lovely.
